When Miri Yu finds herself pregnant by a married man with no prospect of getting divorced, She turns to her former boyfriend Higashi Yutaka for solace and advice. But Miri discovers that he has an advanced cancer. The two lives in Miri's life begin heading in opposite directions, birth & death. But Higashi doesn't give up without a struggle. He tries all sorts of advanced medical treatment in Tokyo and New York.
